Signify has expanded its Philips Hue smart lighting portfolio with a new range of entertainment-focused products designed to deliver more immersive lighting experiences for movies, gaming, and music. The latest additions include the Hue Play Table Lamp, Hue Play Floor Lamp Compact, and Hue Play Floor Lamp Large, extending the company’s Play lineup beyond light strips and TV lighting.
The new luminaires feature RGBWWIC gradient lighting technology, allowing multiple colors to be displayed simultaneously along the light output. When paired with the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box or the Hue Sync TV and desktop applications, the lamps synchronize dynamically with on-screen content, creating ambient lighting effects that match colors and movement in real time.
According to Signify, the new Play lamps are positioned as more affordable alternatives to the existing Hue Signe collection while maintaining compatibility with the broader Hue ecosystem. The products are intended for living rooms, gaming setups, and home entertainment spaces where synchronized lighting can enhance viewing experiences without requiring permanent installation.
Alongside the new entertainment lighting products, Philips Hue introduced updated E14 candle bulbs featuring improved energy efficiency, expanded white-light capabilities, and Matter compatibility. The company also announced its first wired wall switch modules, enabling conventional lighting fixtures to be integrated into the Hue smart lighting platform through existing wall switches.
The product expansion reflects the continued evolution of smart lighting beyond basic illumination. Entertainment lighting has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the residential lighting market, driven by increasing consumer demand for connected homes and immersive digital experiences. Rather than functioning solely as decorative lighting, modern smart luminaires are increasingly integrated with televisions, gaming consoles, streaming platforms, and voice-controlled home automation systems.
The new Philips Hue entertainment range is rolling out in Europe, North America, and selected international markets, further strengthening Signify’s position in the premium smart lighting segment. With the latest additions, the company continues to expand the Philips Hue ecosystem by combining connected lighting, entertainment synchronization, and broader smart home interoperability.
